Barris hosts Books and Authors in Uxbridge

September 25, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

BLUEHERONBOOKS_LOGOOn Thursday, Sept. 25, Ted Barris will host an annual tradition during Uxbridge’s Celebration of the Arts. Books and Authors Night, at the town’s historic Music Hall, will feature four highly sought-after and compelling authors – reading from their latest work and in conversation with Ted. Miriam Toews (author of All My Puny Sorrows), Kim Thuy (author of Ru), Elyse Friedman (author of The Answer to Everything), and Amanda Lindhout (author of A House in the Sky), are all on the bill. The evening offers all those who attend a unique opportunity to meet a favourite author, hear some of her insights to writing, publishing and the writer’s life. Of course, Shelley Macbeth and the staff of Blue Heron Books will have all the authors’  books for sale and personal autographing; tickets on sale at Blue Heron Books. Ted is fresh from a series of speaking dates across Western Canada and the U.S. At the end of his recent appearance in Colorado, the members of the U.S. Stalag Luft III POWs Association awarded him their “Certificate of Honor” in recognition of his work on his latest bestselling book The Great Escape: A Canadian Story.
