Carol Off and Grace O’Connell featured at Blue Heron Books & Brunch

On Nov. 12, Blue Heron Books in Uxbridge features another in its fall series, Books and Brunch. On this occasion, author Ted Barris will interview Carol Off, host of CBC Radio’s “As It Happens,” about her latest book, All We Leave Behind, which offers story of a family’s desperate attempts to escape Afghan warlords, Taliban oppression, and the persecutions of refugee life. Ted will also interview Grace O’Connell, senior editor at Open Book Toronto and author of Be Ready for the Lightning. The $25 admission includes a brunch at Wooden Sticks venue.

Ted Barris is an author, journalist and broadcaster, making appearances on CBC Radio and regular contributions to the National Post and Legion, Air Force and Zoomer magazines, he gives talks/presentations across the country. He has authored 18 published, non-fiction books.

In 2011 he received the Canadian Minister of Veterans’ Affairs Commendation and in 2012 the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. His book The Great Escape: A Canadian Story received the 2014 Libris Best Non-Fiction Award.
