Barris helps launch “Be My Guest” in Bracebridge
March 19, 2014 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
On March 19, residents in Muskoka will help inaugurate a brand new regular evening-out in the region. Longtime resident, producer and writer Peter Jennings kicks off his “Be My Guest” event in Bracebridge.
An experienced interviewer and broadcaster, Jennings plans to bring an array of guests to entertain and edify audiences in the area. To launch the series – onstage live at the lecture hall of Nipissing University – Jennings will interview longtime friend and collaborator, Ted Barris.
Of course, the two will engage on Barris’s latest project – his National Bestselling book The Great Escape: A Canadian Story. But because the Jennings and Barris have worked together in every conceivable communications venture over the past 40 years, they will have lots to offer on subjects as diverse as show business, the media and the writer’s live. Doors open at 7 p.m. Show begins at 7:30 p.m. It’s guaranteed to be a light and enlightening evening.
Ted Barris is an author, journalist and broadcaster. As well as hosting appearances on CBC Radio and regular contributions to the National Post and Legion, Air Force and Zoomer magazine, he is a full-time professor of journalism and broadcasting at Centennial College in Toronto. He has authored 17 published, non-fiction books. In 2011 he received the Canadian Minister of Veterans’ Affairs Commendation and in 2012 the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
