Barris interviews authors Yann Martel and Gary Barwin

$25As part of Blue Heron Books’ “A series of fortunate (literary) events,” for 2016, authors Yann Martel and Gary Barwin visit Wooden Sticks Golf Club at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30.
While he is perhaps best known for his Man Booker Prize-winning novel Life of Pi, Yann Martel has written a series of landmark works, including The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios, We Ate the Children Last, Beatrice and Virgil and 101 Letters to a Prime Minister. His most recent novel is The High Mountains of Portugal.
Gary Barwin is a composer, multimedia artists, performer and educator. He has written 17 books of poetry and other fiction. He has received the Hamilton Book Award, the bpNichol chapbook award and the KM Hunter Foundation Artist Award. His latest novel, Yiddish for Pirates, is a 2016 release.
The authors will be in conversation with author, journalist and broadcaster Ted Barris. He has authored 18 published, non-fiction books. In 2011 he received the Canadian Minister of Veterans’ Affairs Commendation and in 2012 the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. His book The Great Escape: A Canadian Story received the 2014 Libris Best Non-Fiction Book Award.
