On Sunday, Oct. 4, Blue Heron Books launches its fall lineup of events with a special visit to Books & Brunch from celebrated author Lawrence Hill. The event takes place at Wooden Sticks Golf Club in Uxbridge.

Hill is the author of 10 books. His 2007 novel The Book of Negroes won the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best Book and CBC Radio’s Canada Reads. His fourth novel, The Illegal, was published by HarperCollins Canada earlier this year.

Ted Barris, who regularly hosts Books & Brunch, will join Lawrence Hill in conversation about his writing and The Illegal. Barris is an author, journalist and broadcaster. Last spring his book, The Great Escape: A Canadian Story received the 2014 Libris Best Non-Fiction Book Award.
