Gananoque features Barris and Fallis together again launching new books

September 4, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

After their successful appearances last spring at the annual 1000 Island Writers’ Festival, Terry Fallis and Ted Barris are returning to Gan to launch their respective new 2019 books with a splash.

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Barris and Fallis will return with their own brand of presentation and conversation. The evening at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 92, in town, will feature Barris doing a talk/presentation on his new book, Rush to Danger: Medics in the Line of Fire, while Fallis will offer background and readings from his new novel, Albatross. The two will also offer a unique perspective of their writing careers by interviewing each other as part of the festivities that evening.

Terry Fallis is a two-time winner of the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour, and the author of six national bestsellers, including The Best Laid Plans (2008), The High Road (2010), Up and Down (2012), No Relation (2013), Poles Apart (2015), and One Brother Shy (2017). Ted Barris has published 19 non-fiction books, including The Great Escape: A Canadian Story, which won the 2014 Libris Best Non-Fiction in Canada; and in 2018, Dam Busters: Canadian Airmen and the Secret Raid against Nazi Germany earned the RCAF Association NORAD Trophy.
